By now you’ve probably heard about the measles outbreak that started at Disneyland in California in December and has since swelled to more than 120 cases across the country.
The virus was nearly eradicated over a decade ago after the introduction of a measles vaccine in the early 1960s (the vaccine is considered 95 percent effective), but it has been making a comeback in recent years due to increased international travel and “clusters” of unvaccinated people in the U.S.
